Today, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP)announced that the New York Foundation will be one of five recipients of the coveted 2015 NCRP Impact Awards.
One of the field’s most ardent critics,NCRP believes that the public has a legitimate interest in the use of philanthropic resources. Because donors receive the privilege of tax deduction for charitable donations, philanthropic institutions have a responsibility to use their resources to benefit people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity.
The New York Foundation has held these same principles since its founding in 1909 – our profile on NCRP highlights one of our longtime grantees, Community Action for Safe Apartments (CASA), a group which aims to protect affordable housing stock in NYC: http://ncrp.org/impact-awards/awardees/new-york-foundation
