Fear and Uncertainty for People Living Under DACA Now That Their Fates Rest With Congress

Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) was featured in the Root, discussing how many Black immigrants in the United States do not benefit from programs like DACA. Nevertheless, there are more than 575,000 Black immigrants in the U.S. that are looking for answers. Opal Tometi, executive director of BAJI, believes that with the decision to rescind DACA, the president is “pandering to white supremacists over immigrants” and that “it is now up to Congress to come up with a long-term solution to our broken immigration system.”
