Bio: Alexa has been the Director of Research and Policy at the Community Development Project at the Urban Justice Center since 2008. During this time she has overseen the design, implementation, writing and release of over 70 participatory action research reports in partnership with grassroots organizations, has coordinated various citywide and national research projects and has developed various popular education tools and trainings including the Research for Organizing Toolkit.

From 2006 until 2008 she was the Research and Policy coordinator at Community Voices Heard, where she designed and co-authored several reports about the welfare system and public housing.

Alexa has a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
