Bio: Pavitra joined CRE in February 2004. She came to CRE from Ernst and Young in India where she lead a variety of human resources interventions around organization design, competency frameworks, compensation and recruitment. She was also part of a team that helped set up E&Y’s knowledge management practice in India.
As a consultant and coach at CRE, Pavitra works with executives and senior leaders on a variety of leadership and management development projects. She partners with management teams to help them think about personnel planning and development as well as helping them align or redesign their organizational structures based on their overall strategy. She helps clients conduct human resources reviews and audits and advises them on emergency and long term succession planning. She also has helped clients design, implement and communicate policies and procedures, performance appraisal and compensation management systems and collaborates with clients to address their recruitment needs. In addition she is a resource to clients on their internal communication and employee relations issues. Pavitra's consulting portfolio also includes leading projects in the areas of strategic planning and board development.
As the head of CRE’s leadership and management development practice, she anchors, develops and leads trainings and cohort activities that target executive leaders and middle managers at client organizations. Pavitra co-authored a book with CRE colleagues Jean Lobell and Mohan Sikka called Meeting the Job Challenges of Nonprofit Leaders: A Fieldbook on Strategies and Actions.
Pavitra brings an international perspective developed during years of volunteering at various non-profits both in India and in the United States. She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce as well as a MBA in International Business from École nationale des ponts et Chausseés, Paris. She is certified in Clifton StrengthsFinder, Facilitative Leadership, Hogan Personality Assessment Index, and Clark Wilson 360° Assessment Tools; she is in the process of formally being certified by an International Coaching Federation accredited institution. She is a 4th year selection committee member for the New York Nonprofit Excellence Awards.
