SICO: Summer Internship in Community Organizing

New York Foundation provides funds for summer internships in community organizing for young people ages 15-23 to increase the number of young people in New York City who see organizing as a career choice.

Only current New York Foundation grantees are eligible to apply. Each organization can be awarded one grant.

Internship Guidelines

Our goal is to provide support to current grantee partners that can offer young people experience in community organizing as an approach to social change. In line with our grantmaking values, we encourage organizations to prioritize hiring interns from historically marginalized identities, including Black, Indigenous, people of color; trans, non-binary, and gender non-confirming people; LGBQ+ people; trans and cis women; immigrants; and people with disabilities. We will prioritize making grants to organizations that will engage interns directly in organizing efforts and that proactively center racial, economic, gender, climate, and disability justice.
